So here it is, the ultimate list of my top 100 video game tracks. In my opinion, these songs are the crème de la crème of artistic and creative work by composers who breathe soul into simple software, zeros and ones. These people elevate an entertainment product to an art form and create memories - my memories. That's why this list includes not only the blockbusters, all of which are rightly acclaimed and celebrated, but also little gems that bring back memories of the past in general and childhood days in particular.
For this list, I went through the tracks in my library that were rated with 5 stars and had to filter out the best from almost 2000 tracks. It wasn't easy and I was heartbroken at times because song X or track Y didn't make the list. To keep the whole thing fair, I limited myself to one track per album/soundtrack and put together a colorful mixture of epic, tragic and simply beautiful music. Not everyone will like my taste, but I would still ask you, who have read this far, to give it a listen. You don't have to check it all out, and God knows not all at once, but that's the essence of this site, the reason for my work here: to convey my passion. If these tracks don't do it, nothing will.
