The Invincible
Not only is the author of this article referred to as The Invincible in 1vs2 games in Age of Empires IV, but also the recently released video game adaptation of the sci-fi novel of the same name by Stanisław Lem. In the so-called Atompunk setting, basically a retro-futuristic depiction of space travel, we explore the planet Regis III as astrobiologist Yasna and stumble across all kinds of philosophical subjects - according to the promise of the book and game.

Fallout 2
Während Story und Spielwelt ganze 80 Jahre zwischen das erste Fallout und seinen Nachfolger werfen, trennte 1998 nur ein Jahr die Veröffentlichungen der beiden Rollenspielklassiker. Radikale Änderungen darf man folglich nicht erwarten. Dennoch kommen Fans und Kritiker laut Metacritic zu unterschiedlichen Meinungen, welches das bessere der beiden Spiele war. Darüber erlaube ich mir derweil kein Urteil, habe ich doch weder das eine noch das andere je angerührt.

Fallout
For someone like me, who was only five years old in 1997, the first Fallout game probably didn't have much impact. Consequently, I can't say much about this classic role-playing game. What did it do differently or better than comparable titles? Why did the setting of a nuclear post-apocalyptic world work so well? These are all questions I can only answer starting with Fallout 3.
