Während große Marken mit dickem Budget die Fallhöhe eines Fehlschlags im Normalfall durch Marketing und ihre Stammklientel reduzieren können, fangen viele kleine Entwicklerstudios für gewöhnlich bei null an – so auch Team Cherry, die Entwickler vom 2017er Metroidvania Hollow Knight. Denn die haben genau ein Game auf ihre Releaseliste und nur den Nachfolger, Hollow Knight: Silksong, in der Pipeline.

About Schlager
Ich bin gerade dabei, eine Fallstudie zum Thema ‚Schlager‘ zu machen, aka ich habe mir unnötig Musik angehört und wollte die Zeit nicht verschwendet wissen. Denn ja, ich höre auch andere Sachen als nur Soundtracks, aber darum geht es ja auf dieser Seite nicht … egal. Beim Blick auf die Alben sind mir mehrere Beobachtungen aufgefallen, die ich gerne mit euch teilen würde. Dazu muss ich wohl kurz eine Einordnung verfassen, denn Schlager sind ja an sich ein recht spezielles, fast schon deutsch-kulturelles Phänomen, bei denen einfache Texte mit einfachen Melodien Ohrwürmer erzeugen, auf die man nicht stolz ist und trotzdem nicht aus dem Kopf kriegt.

Sucht man im Internet nach dem Wort „knuffig“, bekommt man ein paar Definitionen vor den Latz geknallt: „Niedlich, putzig, liebenswert“, sagt der Duden, die Seite dwds ergänzt, „durch äußerliche Merkmale oder sein Verhalten Sympathie, den Wunsch nach liebevoller Zuwendung auslösend“. Und selbst gutefrage – immer ein Garant für gute Fragen und nicht minder gute Antworten – hat einen eigenen Thread. Dort schreibt Danielconnor Folgendes: „Was bedeutet "knuffig"? In meiner vorherigen Liste der Top 10 Soundtracks aus dem Jahr 2000 hatte ich damals dieses neue Tool, genannt ‚Chat-GPT‘, ausprobiert, um mir ein Ranking zusammenzustellen. Zwei Gedanken dazu: Man, ist das schon wieder lange her, dass KI offiziell an den Start ging; und man sollte echt überprüfen, was die KI einem da so zusammenstellt. Denn die hatte mir damals in ihre Vorschläge unter anderem Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty hineingeschmuggelt … das allerdings erst 2001 erschien. Das hatte ich damals aber nicht mehr überprüft, weshalb das Game so seinen Weg in meine selbsterstellte 2000er-Liste fand.

Top 100 Video game tracks 2
When I created my first Top 100 videogame tracks almost four years ago, I thought on the one hand that I had put my magnum opus into the world. On the other hand, I was very sure that I would certainly not bother a second time, let alone a third. Almost four years later, I'm about to write my 200th review and feel the need to celebrate in style. And because not only have a bunch of new soundtracks reached the world's auditory canals in the meantime, but I've also been able to catch up on many 'old favorites', the stars seem to have aligned for a second list.

Im Trailer zu Hextech Mayhem wird groß mit dem Slogan ‚Make Musical Mayhem!‘ geworben, also ‚Mach musikalisches Durcheinander!‘ Verwundern tut dies nicht, schließlich handelt es sich bei dem Ableger aus dem League of Legends-Universum um ein Rhythmus-Spiel. Wir steuern den aus dem MOBA bekannten pelzigen Yordle Ziggs, der seiner bombigen Zerstörungswut in diesem Autoscroller freien Lauf lässt.

I actually wanted to make my next top something list when I reached my 200th music review. Then I foolishly changed the counting method and instead of 199 reviews I was suddenly back at 170 ... great. Top 10 scores from 2000
I love top lists. After all, there is probably nothing more controversial, as it is ultimate, than a numerical list of your own preferences. The problem with this is that ranking them takes a lot of time and preparation. After all, you not only have to find a contingent of winners, but also comprehensively record the field of participants from which they emerge. This is probably the main reason why I created my last list a solid year ago. Fortunately, a lot has happened technologically in the meantime! So I asked Chat-GPT to put together a quick list of the top 10 video game scores for games released in the year 2000.
