The beauty of some things is that you can only measure their exact value in direct comparison to something else. Is a D+ a good grade? For someone who usually resides further down the spectrum of marks, certainly. Is it objectively a good grade? No, rather less so. Or is pasta with ketchup the best dish? Perhaps for unaccustomed palates, but for gourmets it is of course absolutely worth a spit.
