Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed
For the next (road) trip
I fired up the random number generator again today and the review wheel stopped at Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed Now there are two types of racing games for me: Those that I've played and that therefore inspire me retrospectively, and those that I've never touched and therefore interest me about as much as the Heidi Klum's Telegram channel. Porsche Unleashed (that's an awesome name, isn't it?) falls into the latter category and although it was certainly a good game at the time, my enthusiasm for it is limited. Driving in circles is the most fun when you're actually doing it.
In this respect, I can only warm to the soundtrack to a limited extent, even though it certainly went well with the gameplay. Electro, funk, techno. In general, the score is reminiscent of a marriage between Jet Set Radio and one of The Prodigy's earlier albums. For fans it's probably a match made in heaven, for me it's standard fare with no highlights worth mentioning. Or in other words: To whom it may concern...
