Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna
Legends without glory
In short: yes. Legends of Aranna, the standalone expansion, which was released at the end of 2003, a year and a half after Dungeon Siege is not one of Soule's big hits and therefore fails to live up to my expectations. Like the main game, there is only one entry for the score of Aranna in the fan wiki, which is why I use the term OST (original soundtrack), but it is not an officially published soundtrack.
Sounds confusing? Good! Because in addition to the fact that the tracks are again made up of different fragments, according to the the wiki, the track The DeadJeremy Soule. Den gibt’s dafür in diesem YouTube-Video and, based on the length of the tracks, has not been included anywhere ... which is why it now appears in my list. As lazy as I am, that's where my pedantry kicks in.
Where was I? Oh yes, music. By and large, it is on a par with that of the main game, even if thankfully none of the pieces break the five-minute mark. Only the nice action pieces ArhokJeremy Soule and The Haunted RuinsJeremy Soule, the ominous The Skull of CicatrixJeremy Soule, the soulful The UltreansJeremy Soule and the Easter Egg track The Secret Disco ThemeJeremy Soule, which boogies discreetly out of line with its 60s club feeling, are really worth mentioning. Certainly a presentable score for its time, compared to todays standards its quality is unfortunately hardly up to par. Like a wine that has matured a little too long in the cellar.
