Breakwater

World War II was (to my knowledge) the first war to be fought on land, at sea, and in the air. However, since the map selection in the main game and the two previous DLCs primarily covered land and air, Turning Tides took us into the refreshingly cool to very cool waters of the Mediterranean and the North Sea/Atlantic. But since war is always awful, regardless of the setting, the music in the expansion remains true to the style of the game.

The score

Thus, the twelve tracks on this score once again range between action cinema and fatalism, even if Mediterranean sounds have crept into Cape HellesJohan Söderqvist, Patrik Andrén3 and The Shores of GallipoliJohan Söderqvist, Patrik Andrén4 . Dark pieces such as The BattleshipsJohan Söderqvist, Patrik Andrén4 and Cold Dark WaterJohan Söderqvist, Patrik Andrén3 provide a menacing contrast here, beautifully capturing the relentless rough seas. My favorite pieces of the score are the royal hurrah in For the EmpireJohan Söderqvist, Patrik Andrén5 and the heist movie-like Sand and DustJohan Söderqvist, Patrik Andrén5.
