This will be a short review for several reasons. Firstly, I can't say much about the actual game other than that much remains the same. Anyone who has played Telltale's predecessors knows what to expect: interesting characters and a story full of twists and turns, but one that ultimately implies more freedom than is actually given. In the end, the decisions made only have a marginal effect, and anyone expecting entertaining drama will be disappointed. Although it is nice to start with a fresh cast after the two predecessors, shaking your head over the outlandish story is once again part of the tone of Season 3.

Secondly, there is not much to say about the soundtrack, which is not even an OST, i.e. 'original soundtrack'. The version I have consists of 58 tracks and is a musical snore-fest. Hardly any of the melodies are memorable, and only in the action sequences is there any tension. Anyone who now comes up with the argument that this is a horror game should be told that many games such as BioShock or films such as 28 Days Later have already impressively shown that horror doesn't have to be boring. But what bothers me the most is that composer Jared Emerson-Johnson, who as far as I know is responsible for all the soundtracks in Telltale games, has already shown in The Wolf Among Us that he actually knows his craft. However, my enthusiasm for this creation is somewhat limited. Too bad.

Nostalgia warning

The rating of the individual tracks is purely subjective and clearly colored by my own experience with the game. You can find out more in the article About Nostalgia.
