Hopefully the game's better

The boxed version of Sudeki came into my possession after a radical clean-out by a good friend, where it has been happily gathering dust in my collection ever since. I've never touched the thing, because even back then it looked boring. That's why I can't say anything about the actual game and will jump straight into the music part of this review. And this will also be quite manageable, as the soundtrack can be described as very lacking in identity and hence irrelevant.

With the exception of a few tracks worth listening to, the thankfully manageable number of songs ranks in the lower midfield in terms of rating. In general, the droning can be classified somewhere between background music for a shopping channel and a travel documentary with trips to the local techno club. That might sound like a wild blend, but it's actually quite tame: uninspired upbeat sounds (New Brightwater), stereotypical motifs (Rumblebelly Canyon) and the classic, musical noise fillers that are barely above ambient noise (The Kulasaur Graveyard).

The somewhat more action-packed tracks, on the other hand, could be a bit of fun if the entire soundtrack, with an average length of a good 5 minutes per song, didn't drag on so much. Fans of the music from The Matrix-films may find this album interesting, but it doesn't offer anything that you can't find better elsewhere - for example in Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay für die Action, oder für Technofans in Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit.
