Spiritfarer ist vor Kurzem erschienen und meines Wissens nach ein nettes, kleines Adventure mit Kloß-im-Hals-Potenzial und Melancholie-Overkill nach Schema Indie-Artsi-Fatsi wie Seasons After Fall, Gris und Konsorten. Aus irgendeinem Grund hatte ich gerade Lust, mir den Soundtrack ‚zu geben‘, wie man Neudeutsch so schön formuliert.
Gesagt, gehört. Für die schnulzige Gefühlsachterbahn – nur echt mit Klaviergeklimper und Pan-/Quergeflöte – zeichnet Maxime Lacoste-Lebuis aka Max LL verantwortlich, der bei der Schaffung seines Künstlernamens wohl nicht übers spanische Doppel-Der hinausgekommen zu sein scheint. Musikalisch ist er allerdigns deutlich kreativer unterwegs und präsentiert einen bunten Mix, der fröhlich zwischen beschwingt sorgenfrei und deprimierend bodenständig hin- und herspringt.
Schließlich geht es im Spiel inhaltlich darum, den Fährmann Charon auf dem Seelenfluss Styx abzulösen und die Seelen toter Tiere ins Reich der Verstorbenen zu schippern. Vorher darf man ihnen aber noch einen schönen Abschied bereiten – also quasi Sterbebegleitung in bunt und kindertauglich, perfekt musikalisch umgesetzt.
Der Soundtrack bietet genau das, was man erwartet, aber leider auch nicht mehr. Die Melodien sind bewegend, bleiben jedoch ohne emotionale Verknüpfung nicht wirklich im Kopf. Tatsächlich aber hat der 40 Track lange Score in mir auch ein gewisses Interesse an dem Spiel geweckt. Vielleicht kann ich also demnächst mal wieder die Tränendrüsen anwerfen, die kommen in meinem perfekten Leben so selten zum Einsatz. Der OST landet dagegen wertungstechnisch im soliden Mittelfeld – zumindest heute.
